Siew Ling is co-Head of Asia Desk and also Associate Partner in the Banking & Finance and in the Property Teams.
Siew Ling has an extensive network of clients, both in Southeast Asia and within Australia.
She predominately acts for banks, financial institutions, private lenders, property developers and significant charities. She also counts amongst her many clients, 3 property development companies with head offices in Malaysia, and are listed on the main board of the Bursa Malaysia.
Siew Ling previously practiced overseas for 13 years and was a partner for 9 years in a well-known firm there before returning to Melbourne. She has since practiced in national top-tier and mid-tier Australian firms. Her varied experience has given her a very good grasp of the legal landscape.
Siew Ling has an intimate knowledge of what is required in loan and security documentation for construction, commercial and investment financing. She has acted in relation to major finance projects within the Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth CBD and greater metropolitan areas. Siew Ling has drafted loan document for both public listed companies, private lenders and several overseas banks.
Siew Ling has significant experience in loan and security documentation, including mortgages over land, leases, company shares and trust units; company charges; assignments of contractual rights and rental income; deeds of priority; due diligence on joint venture documents, contracts of sale and leases; cross-collateralisation of facilities and invoice financing documentation.
Siew Ling’s property clients currently have significant multi-unit development projects in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.
Siew Ling’s varied and international client-base rely on her sound knowledge and efficient work practices as she is able to consistently deliver very favourable outcomes within tight timelines.
Outside of work, Siew Ling is most enthusiastic about enjoying the company of family and friends, often over meals where Siew Ling enthusiastically experiments with innovations to recipes, or over a period of travel to new destinations.
