Danaher Moulton has advised the shareholders of Monarch Institute, a leading provider of online education, on its successful sale to UP Education, a portfolio company of Pacific Equity Partners.
Since its founding in 2011, Monarch Institute has been a pioneer in online vocational training and professional development, delivering high-quality courses across Australia. The Institute partners with industry leaders, top academics, and renowned authors through its advisory committee to ensure its courses remain practical and aligned with market needs.
A significant aspect of the transaction involved a pre-completion restructure and the successful carve-out of Monarch’s subsidiary, Browns English Language School, which will continue to operate independently under the vendors.
The Danaher Moulton team was led by corporate Partners Matthew Burge and Steven Wambeek, with support from Lawyer Nicholas von Schoenberg.
Congratulating the Monarch team on the successful transaction, Matthew Burge said:
“We are thrilled to have supported the Monarch shareholders in this significant milestone. This transaction highlights the hard work, vision, and rapid growth of the business. By securing a strategic buyer in UP Education, and ensuring the ongoing success of Browns English Language School, the vendors have positioned both businesses for continued success. It has been a pleasure working with the Monarch team throughout this process.”
Danaher Moulton worked alongside boutique corporate advisory firm Southgate Partners in relation to the transaction.
